Head Shots that Match Your Style & Your Profession

There are different types of professional head shots that call for varying styles. Example A is a traditional head shot, more of a simple representation of you as a professional individual. While Example B is in traditional style but is a more creative head shot. I added colored gels to bring more pop and creativity to Example B’s session. She’s a creative designer and wanted her images to have more style and flare. Example C is a modern head shot and is sort of like a combination of both A and B. I kept it clean and non distracting like the traditional but I amped the lighting to make it more bold. I shot it slightly at a hero angle, which gives the subject more power and presence in the image. My last image is Example D and it’s a career focused head shot. Example D is a lawyer and wanted that career environment look. I brought two lights to him, shooting this session on location but in a studio style to achieve the same high quality and multi light set up a studio provides.

Behind the Scenes: Portrait Shoot

This shoot was for Rare Buzz Effects New Tees with model Riley Dean of the band Snarls. I used a speed light with a soft box as my main light and an LED as a kicker to highlight Riley from different angles. This session went from shooting in a freight elevator, to Rare Buzz’s studio and a random white wall. Using different combinations of lighting and styles I was able to create some cool looks for my client. Take a peek and see how I photographed it!
